You are not your setback.

The proposed first pilot focuses on HRA-referred adults who remain stalled after job-readiness or employment services and need targeted instruction to move forward.

ABC may be right for you if…

  • You have an employment or training goal and a skill you need to strengthen
  • You need reading, writing, mathematics, typing or computer practice
  • You are interested in GED preparation or a city job examination
  • You are in shelter or transitional housing, or returning from incarceration, and need assessed workforce support
  • You want a learning plan with practical tasks and measurable goals

What ABC is not

ABC is not a guarantee of employment, a staffing agency, or a replacement for required licensing. We help participants build readiness, demonstrate progress, and connect to appropriate pathways.

Your participant journey

1

Intake

Share your goals, experience, strengths, and concerns.

2

Assessment

Complete practical activities to identify useful support.

3

Learning Plan

Agree on up to three measurable goals in your Individualized Remediation Plan. Your separate Participant Execution Plan sets out coaching, practice, schedules and supports. Review progress with your coach each week.

4

Practice

Attend sessions, complete assignments, and receive feedback.

5

Reassessment

Demonstrate progress and identify remaining needs.

6

Next Step

Move toward training, employment, or continued support.

Progress requires participation.

Work with staff on an individual attendance schedule, practice regularly, communicate barriers and use feedback. Housing circumstances or an absence alone do not establish a skill deficiency. Staff can coordinate appropriate outside support.

Your information and your progress

ABC uses an internal participant ID and does not request or collect Social Security numbers, including partial numbers. Record matching uses an authorized partner-assigned identifier under a written information-sharing agreement. Any SEAMS access or reporting requires HRA approval and agreed procedures.

Information sharing follows participant consent and agreed reporting requirements. Do not send case numbers, medical information or other confidential records by email. An absence alone is not evidence of a skill deficiency; attendance barriers and demonstrated skills are reviewed separately.

Progress is documented through baseline tasks, practice, work samples and comparable reassessment. Employment or training outcomes are recorded separately from skill gains, with follow-up planned at 30, 90, 180 and 365 days.

Track A

ABC's Track A is designed for stalled adults in workforce programs; disconnected young adults ages 18–24; adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and people returning from incarceration or otherwise affected by the justice system. These circumstances guide support planning and do not establish a skill deficiency. The proposed HRA referral pilot serves adults under agreed eligibility and referral procedures.

Track B — Phase 2

Employer-referred remediation, fast-track retention support and voluntary employer–employee mediation are planned for Phase 2. They are not currently open for enrollment.

Language access and wellness support

ABC plans professional interpretation through LanguageLine, subject to confirmed access and funding, and records each participant's preferred language. Coaches can help arrange referrals to licensed mental health providers accepting Medicaid when requested and authorized. ABC provides workforce coaching; clinical care is provided by licensed professionals.

Interview clothing support will be coordinated through donated attire and community resources when available. Distribution and any YMCA permissions will be confirmed before launch.
